A note on fixing the ›95 Theses‹ by Georg Rörer Held by the Thuringian State and University Library (ThULB), the edition of the New Testament published in 1540 also contains a handwritten note by Luther’s con dant Georg Rörer (1492–1557) on the posting of the Theses in 1517: Anno domini 1517 in profesto omnium Sanctorum, pr<…> Wittemberge in valuis templorum propositæ sunt pro<positiones> de Indulgentiis, a Doctore Martino Luthero . To rephrase it in English: ›In the year of the Lord 1517, on the eve of All Saints’ Day, [...] Dr Martin Luther presen- ted his theses on disputation of indulgences by xing them on the door of churches in Wittenberg.‹
